Love and Jealousy
Jealousy is a destructive force with farreaching consequences. When a person becomes consumed by resentment, their anger can spiral out of control. In such a state, nothing seems capable of restraining them, and shame often disappears. They may pursue harmful actions in the belief that satisfaction will follow, yet true satisfaction never enters the mind of someone ruled by rage.
In today’s world, social media has significantly intensified this problem. While it is a powerful tool that can connect people across the globe, it can also divide them. The ease with which individuals can express opinions—often under the banner of freedom of expression—has made it possible for negativity, hatred, and anger to spread rapidly and without accountability.
When the first signs of resentment appear in someone, it is wise to distance yourself as soon as possible. Doing so protects your emotional and mental wellbeing. However, this separation should be handled with tact and care, as manipulation and craftiness often become second nature to a deeply jealous person.
Love and jealousy are frequently confused, yet they are fundamentally different. A person who truly loves you does not seek to control or overprotect you but instead respects your individuality and freedom. True love understands the distinction between protectiveness, which is rooted in care, and possessiveness, which is driven by insecurity.
